Celebrate the Earth Club has its focus on enjoying and helping the environment.
We meet Wednesdays at lunch. Anyone who wants to play, learn and help our world
is invited to be part of this group.

This group organizes fun school events for the students. The purpose of the
group is to encourage student involvement. We meet every Monday, at lunch.
Students are selected by their peers to be part of the organization. So get
yourself elected as a Grade Rep!

OSAID

Ontario Students Against Impaired Driving meets every Thursday at lunch. Our
main focus is to make students aware of the dangers of impaired driving. OSAID
sponsors school and community events to promote awareness. The club is open to
everyone, so come out and join.

Prom Committee

This group is responsible for planning and implementing the end of year Prom. We
decide the theme, the decorations and the meal. As a group we begin meeting once
a week in April, and then in May we meet almost every night to create the
decorations. It is a lot of work but a lot of fun and appreciated by the entire
school.

Reach for the Top

Our group meets every wednesday and Friday at lunch, September through June. We
practise by playing Reach For The Top intermediate and senior games, and then
compete in a Regional tournament against Elliot Lake, Blind River, Manitouwadge
and Nip-Rock High Schools. The Senior winner goes to the Provincial finals in
Toronto. Everyone is welcome. Join the fun and test your knowledge!

Yearbook

Students can become part of producing the yearbook by listening for
announcements requesting help. Students are appointed as editors and they
coordinate the production of the memories of our high school experiences. Get
involved so you can help preserve some of our favourite events and experiences.
And even if you don't want to be directly involved share some of your pictures
so we can be remembered and enjoyed by all!

Media Club

The Media Club is an invaluable asset to our school. The Media Club ensures that
the sound and lighting for assemblies and important events is running on time.
We produce digital media like animation, video and digital photography. We
digitally edit photos and produce print media as well. This year we plan to
continue to help keep our school running smoothly.

Band

MHS has energetic musicians. Different groups have been formed, which include
the Roadhouse Band, the Jazz Ensemble, Choir, and the recently added Rock Band.
Groups practise 2-3 times a week, and perform locally in a number of venues.
Watch for and listen to the announcements to hear about the possibilities. If
you have an idea-let's hear it. Come join, share your talents and experience
music with us.
